" THE KNIFE'S EDGE TRAIL, MT. KATAHDIN, ME" Painting by DJ Marshall Copyright 2017
" LIFE ON THE EDGE " Copyright 2016
** 2,000 miles of mountains, and the end of the trail could now be seen,
across the long length of a rocky ridge. A sliver, like a knife's edge, lay the
only place one's foot might find to grip the world.
A life on the edge, is what all walked forward over, on their way to the end
of their time. Balancing on a knife's edge, trying not to push the limits of falling
to the left , or to the right. It was an endless fight, some might even say plight.
To the right there was no concern, . . . to the left many had learned. - - - It was
just a place to shed the fright of life, as well as the demands of either left or right.
A thin walk way of rock, for feet to grip the earth, on their way to the end of their
time.
